Twenty experts in botany, geology and mountain access gathered today for the training day of the 2015 North Face Survey. We went up to Coire na Ciste to get a refresher in using the excellent Field Move Clino app developed by Midland Valley geologists, a reminder in all the various plants, grasses and sedges we are looking for as well as a big abseil to get us all in the mood! Thanks to DMM for supplying the hardware and endless rope we need for such a big project.
We found some Alpine Meadow Grass and a granite dyke cutting into the andesite of Ben Nevis under the Organ Pipes wall. A good start and a lot of fun to the main survey next week.
